I was at a crossroad in my life when someone once advised, “Do what you love, love what you do and the rest will fall into place”. I’m happy to say my journey has been about doing just that - I love the intuitive, creative process of making things. The taking of raw material and building on its nature because it’s in the rawness that I first see its true beauty. From the fibers for my clothing line or the botanicals for my organic art mannequins, to finding softness and grace in the strength of a Warrior pose or the fluidity of a production schedule - I live what I love to do.
I’ve always felt conformity to be a nightmarish experience - like wearing a coat made of horsehair making my skin itchy and annoyed, I rail against my self-imposed boxes. Am I fearful at times? Uh-huh you bet! But, it’s living with the regret that keeps me climbing the mountain. Moving forward. Venturing to new worlds and experiences. Loving life and all it has to offer - that is what I call my creative process.
As a wise sage once wrote, “You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens.”
…here’s to letting go.
